Joe Abercrombie was born in 1974, in Lancaster, Lancashire, England.
Go with the inept general or arch warhammer. Not only is 90% of the info on the place missing, but before I changed it, the main image was a 100x300 low res map of the fort above it which was also in Russian. I briefly did some work on the wiki for images and lore and one of my favourite examples of its hugely varying quality is Karak Azgaraz. Pages about characters like Gotrek and Karl Franz are still being edited on a daily basis back and forth to add and subtract stuff.
#CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER OF WARHAMMER BOOKS FULL#
I guess the wiki is a good base-jumping point so long as you read it in the knowledge that it's full of gaps, mistakes and things that are just wrong.
I used to really like the Inept General but he rarely goes in depth to find more obscure passages or give you the full picture of a character/unit. That’s basically how I got into the lore. Reading the Fandom Wiki or Lexicanum is also a Good way for starters. His way to narrate is really good and so much better than the others. Inept General makes the best lore videos in my opinion. That does not prevent them from being enjoyable however. There are several others that are worth reading as well, but you should always bear in mind that Black Library publications seldom reach the level of really good fantasy.
#CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER OF WARHAMMER BOOKS SERIES#
Ulrika series (I like it, but many don't). Savant Konniger (Sherlock Holmes in warhmmer). Genevieve series (although this is closer to the oldhammer setting in the first books). Teclis and Tyrion trilogy by William King Gotrek and Felix Trollslayer to Giantslayer.
If you want to read novels then I can recommend the following: 4th edition is working on bridging the lore differences between old- and late-hammer. 4th and 2nd edition are probably the most popular (4th being the newest and still going strong), though many prefer 1st edition, but similar to the 1st-3rd editions of the TTG the RPG 1st edition is pretty different to what came later. Next to the armybooks the RPG is pretty good. Oldhammer (1st-3rd) is rather different than what came later. For TWWH I would suggest 6th edition and 7th edition, with 4-5th as supplements (stay away from 8th, it sees the beginning of the End Times, and a lot of the stuff makes little sense). I suggest you start with the armybooks, they give you a good overview. 2K A Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia.846 A Total War Saga: Fall of the Samurai.
